Chanpon

It is quite a rare thing for a Canadian children's publisher to publish a book written by a Japanese author.

This spring, Toronto publisher Annick Press has published "Kiki's Delivery Service" (Japanese title: Majyo no Takkyu-bin) written by well-known Children's writer Eiko Kadono. The translation is by Lynne E. Riggs.

The book first appeared in 1985, and the animation version created by a recent Oscar winner Hayao Miyazaki became an instant hit in Japan in 1989. Now, English readers can enjoy Kiki in a book format!
