Fans of the Matrix in Japan took the legend and made it their own. Pictures and video clips have circulated the web quickly, showing brilliantly conceived Matrix movie enactments.
For sale in the United States, the Animatrix is a collection of Matrix-related anime shorts, commissioned from leading Japanese artists and directors. On the DVD is a short documentary on the profound impact of anime and manga on the Matrix films.

If you're a bit more theory bent, look for Slavoj Zizek's "The Matrix, Or, the two sides of perversion" (<a href="http://container.zkm.de/netcondition/matrix/zizek.html">http://container.zkm.de/netcondition/matrix/zizek.html</a>). Slavoj's is the next Lacan, it seems. I'm publishing a version of it in a handbook I'm putting together. Mimi's going to be in it too.
Hi,
I'm the one who started the thread at Rotten Tomatoes.
If you're interested, there's going to be the biggest, baddest and boldest Matrix re-enactment to date this Sunday in several locations throughout Tokyo, involving nearly 200 agents and of course, plenty of butt-kickin' choreography by Neo, Trinity, Morpheus and the gang.
So come on and check out the English version of the event website I provided here, and if you're feeling up to it, check out the "preview" commercial (flash player required) for the event:

My thread at Rotten Tomatoes is still the best English website to check out the latest Matrix mayhem going down in all major cities of Japan this summer, so come on over!
