Spring Renewal

by Mizuko Ito

News

Chanpon is sporting a new site design to celebrate spring. We hope to maintain the spirit of the season and chanpon culture in the face of international conflict. Please let us know what you think of the new design and format!

Many of you are probably aware that we changed the format of chanpon.org to a web log a few months ago. We have been experimenting with the new format, and now we have a new site design with a seasonal motif that you will see changed quarterly. For those of you who have not checked the site recently, you will see that it is now full of new articles and reader comments in addition to the resource and discussion areas we had previously.

We hope you like the new format and will email your comments or post them online. The web log allows us to post articles and reviews, and anybody can comment on them easily from the web page. No membership or registration is necessary.

I would like to welcome our new writers/editors who have joined our original team of Justin Hall, Joi Ito, Junko Sumiya, and myself, the original team.

- Kaori Kitao, Swarthmore art historian
- Tosh Chiang, writer and Bard College student
- Karuna Shinsho, tricultural mom and former CNN and NHK news anchor
- Jane Pickard, writer and gaming expert
- Yuka Kajihara-Nolan, childrenfs literature expert and professional animal toucher
- Brian Takahashi Hooper, net-tech expert

We continue to host a membersf discussion area for which you can register from our home page, as well as a mailing list, chanpon-friends, for news and announcements.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Please show your support for chanpon.org and the international chanpon community by making a donation. We are a lean operation so every little bit counts for us. Itfs easy to make donations by credit card or check by clicking on the donation link.

You can also help by following the ebuy a bookf link, and clicking through to the online booksellers next time you make an online purchase. A small referral fee will be donated to chanpon.org.

Finally, Chanpon is always looking for new writers and ideas for articles. If you have an idea for something you'd like to publish on the site, or any other questions about the web log, email Justin Hall.

We hope you enjoy the new site and continue to visit chanpon.org.

よろしくお願いします。m(_ _)m
